Allowing enough time

Oil paintings take a long time to produce, generally about a week depending on the weather. This is to allow them to become touch dry so they can be framed and displayed. You need to allow approximately two weeks when commissioning an oil painting. Acrylic paintings can be produced much faster as they dry in one day.

Costs

The following costs are only general, the cost will rise and fall depending on the detail and time required to finish the commission.

Panels or one painting split into 3 or 2 frames are charged as one painting.

Roughly you are looking at

30x50cm=400 euros

60x60=500 euros

120x60=700 euros

2mx1m=1400 euros

Once the commission has been agreed a 50% non refundable deposit is required. LeMakoo has produced over 50 painted commissions in the last two years with a 100% success rate.

Examples

Private client. Valletta 120x80cm. The client liked the sky and sea in a previous LeMakoo painting of St Pauls Bay, but wanted Valletta Instead.

3a Accountants, a stunning two metre by 70cm oil on canvas painting that now adorns the company's boardroom wall.

2m by 1.4m Valletta Commission

The client wanted a huge Valletta with lots of detail.

Anatomy of a commission

The client wanted an oil painting of his new boat. One to hang in the boat itself (80x40cm) and one to hang in the office (120x80cm). He supplied LeMakoo with pictures and also wanted his favourite lighthouse to appear in the painting.

After a meeting and a visit, a rough was prepared for the clients approval (see below)

The finished product(s)

The client liked one of LeMakoo's smaller flower paintings but needed to fill a much larger wall, or in this case two walls.

After a meeting and a visit, a rough was prepared for the clients approval (see below. the original is first on the left and the 2 mock ups are created quickly in photoshop as a guide)

The client like the first rough with the bigger flowers

The final product, in the home and the clients reaction...
